A method and system for assisting and expediting an organization toward higher levels of the Capability Maturity Model (CMM). The invention provides a method for producing a more mature product. The method comprises the managing of an organization developing the product, whereby management comprises managing organizational personnel and implementing a product improvement process. The method may comprise managing a product development project and the delivery of the product. Actions undertaken during the organizational management affects implementation of the project and delivery managements, and the actions undertaker during the project and delivery management affect implementation of the organizational management. The method may be implemented using electronic hardware and software, locally or over a network such as an intranet or the Internet (12). The method may be implemented using a document management system to administer files and assist a user in the creation of documents related to the steps in the method. The invention uses WebDAV-based communication to coordinate access to multiple document repositories.

L'invention concerne un procédé et un système permettant d'assister et de relancer une organisation en vue d'atteindre des niveaux plus élevés de modèle de stabilisation des capacités (CMM). L'invention a pour objet un procédé permettant d'obtenir un produit qui soit davantage standard. Ce procédé comprend la gestion d'une organisation développant le produit, ladite gestion comprenant la gestion du personnel organisationnel et la mise en oeuvre d'un processus d'amélioration du produit. Le procédé peut comprendre la gestion d'un projet de développement d'un produit et la livraison de ce produit. Des actions entreprises au cours de la gestion organisationnelle affectent la mise en oeuvre du projet et la gestion de l'exécution, et les actions entreprises durant la gestion du projet et son exécution affectent la mise en pratique de ladite gestion organisationnelle. Le procédé peut être mis en oeuvre au moyen d'un matériel et d'un logiciel électroniques, localement ou via un réseau tel que Intranet ou Internet (12). Le procédé peut être mis en oeuvre au moyen d'un système de gestion de documents pour administrer des fichiers et assister un utilisateur dans la création de documents ayant trait aux étapes du procédé. L'invention utilise des communications sur la base de WebDAV en vue de coordonner l'accès aux multiples logithèques référentiels de documents.
