ACCELERATION SENSOR ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An acceleration sensor including a cantilever beam having a free end to which a permanent magnet is at- tached. A pair of magnetic sensors, each consisting of a barber-pole type magnetoresistive sensing element, are arranged opposite to and symmetrically with respect to the magnet. The cantilever is bent and the magnet is moved according to an acceleration, which is detected as outputs from the magnetoresistive sensing elements.
