An access device (20) places a medical article within a body space of a patient. The device has a needle (22) that includes an elongated body (32) and a needle hub (34). The device further includes a dilator (24) disposed on and slideable along the elongated body of the needle and a medical article (26). The medical article is disposed on and slideable along the dilator. A track extends in a proximal direction from the dilator. The needle hub slides along at least a portion of the track between a first position and a second position. The device further includes a locking mechanism operably disposed between the track and the needle hub so as to inhibit further axial movement of the needle in the proximal direction when ibe needle hub is in the second position.
La présente invention concerne un dispositif d'accès qui permet de placer un article médical dans un espace corporel d'un patient. Le dispositif possède une aiguille qui comprend un corps allongé et un raccord d'aiguille. Le dispositif comprend également un dilatateur disposé sur et glissant le long du corps allongé de l'aiguille et un article médical. L'article médical est installé sur et glisse le long du dilatateur. Une piste s'étend suivant une direction proximale depuis le dilatateur. Le raccord d'aiguille glisse le long d'une partie au moins de la piste entre une première et une seconde position. Le dispositif comprend en outre un mécanisme de verrouillage disposé de manière opérationnelle entre la piste et le raccord d'aiguille de manière à inhiber tout autre mouvement axial de l'aiguille dans la direction proximale lorsque le raccord de l'aiguille se trouve dans la seconde position.
