ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An access door assembly for a pressurized wind- box, comprising a door frame having an opening with a post extending from the door frame. A door is pivotally mounted to the frame at a hinge. A latch is pivotally mounted to the door and includes a hook which engages the post for locking the door to the frame. The latch also includes a catch member extending beyond the hook for catching the post when the latch is moved to unlock the door. This stops the door in an intermediate partly open position allowing gusts of air to blow through the opening thereby giving the operator a warning and indication that the windbox is in fact under pressure. In this manner, an operator has sufficient time to step out of the way before moving the latch further, thereby fully disengaging the latch from the post and allowing the door to open fully.

Ensemble de porte d'accès pour boîte à vent pressurisée comportant un encadrement de porte prolongé d'un montant de porte. Une porte est montée en articulation avec l'encadrement de porte par l'intermédiaire d'une charnière. Un mécanisme de verrouillage monté en articulation avec la porte comporte un crochet dont l'accrochage au montant de la porte permet de verrouiller celle-ci à son encadrement. Le mécanisme de verrouillage comporte aussi un organe de blocage intermédiaire, dont la portée plus longue permet d'accrocher la porte au montant de la porte suite au désengagement du mécanisme de verrouillage. Cet organe de blocage intermédiaire sert à maintenir la porte dans une position d'ouverture partielle permettant l'arrivée d'air à travers l'ouverture, ce qui informe l'opérateur des conditions de pression à l'intérieur de la boîte à vent. L'opérateur dispose ainsi du temps nécessaire pour désengager complètement l'organe de blocage intermédiaire et provoquer l'ouverture complète de la porte.
