An accessory for an aerosol container (10) intended for use in an inverted attitude comprises a cradle (22, 24) to support the container and a lever and cam actuating mechanism to effect opening of the aerosol valve. The cradle comprises two clips (22, 24) detachably fitted to a pistol-type hand grip (20). The actuating mechanism comprises a double-armed trigger (38) and a pivotable double-armed toggle (46) in engagement therewith. Squeezing of the trigger (38) causes a thrust surface or surfaces (51) of the toggle to press against the nozzle of the container and open the valve.
