"ACCESSORY SUPPORT MEMBER FOR A HELMET" ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An accessory support member comprises a flat plate provided with two portions adapted to embrace the rim of a variety of types and sizes of protective helmet. The portions may be adapted for snap engagement of the support member with a helmet or alternatively the portions may be adapted loosely to embrace the rim of a helmet, the arrangement being such that a pair of support members of this type may be anchored in position on a helmet by means of an elastic band stretched between the support members over the crown of the helmet. The support member is provided with mounting means in the form of a plurality of apertures, studs or the like so that when a pair of support members are mounted on a helmet a variety of helmet accessories may be independ- ently mounted on the helmet by connecting means cooperating with said mounting means.
