An accommodating intraocular lens is provided in which a deflectable lens element is anchored to a substrate along its optical axis to define a fluid filled space. Fluid-filled haptics disposed in fluid communication with the space vary the fluid volume in the space responsive to forces applied by the ciliary muscles, thereby causing the periphery of the lens element to deflect relative to the substrate and changing the optical power of the intraocular lens.
L'invention concerne une lentille intra-oculaire à accommodation dans laquelle un élément de lentille souple est fixé à un substrat le long de son axe optique de manière à former un espace rempli d'un fluide. Des éléments haptiques remplis d'un fluide, reliés audit espace, font varier le volume de fluide dans l'espace en réponse à des forces appliquées par les muscles ciliaires. Cette variation permet de plier la périphérie de l'élément de lentille par rapport au substrat et de changer la puissance optique de la lentille intra-oculaire.
