An accommodating lens assembly having an optical axis and being adapted to be implanted in a posterior chamber of an eye having a capsular unit located therein. The assembly comprises a rigid haptics element adapted to secure the assembly within the posterior chamber outside said capsular unit. The element is transparent at least in a region around the axis. The assembly further comprises a resilient body adapted to operate as a lens having a curved surface when pressed up against the region of the haptics element by an axial force applied thereto by the capsular unit. A change in this force causes a change in a radius of curvature for the curved surface.

L'invention concerne un ensemble lentille d'accommodation comportant un axe optique et conçu pour être implanté dans une cavité postérieure de l'oeil, dans laquelle est logée une unité capsulaire. Cet ensemble comprend un élément haptique rigide servant à le fixer à l'intérieur de la cavité postérieure, à l'extérieur de ladite unité capsulaire. Cet élément est transparent, au moins dans une zone entourant l'axe. Ledit ensemble comporte également un corps résilient conçu pour agir en tant que lentille à surface courbe, lorsqu'il est pressé vers le haut contre la zone de l'élément haptique par une force axiale appliquée par l'unité capsulaire. Une modification de cette force fait changer un rayon de la courbure de ladite surface.
