ACICULAR FERROMAGNETIC METAL PARTICLES Abstract of the Disclosure Acicular ferromagnetic metal particles consisting essen- tially of iron and having coercive forces greater than 1300 oersteds when the surface areas of the particles are not greater than 45 m2/gram are described. The particles are obtained by reducing a hydrothermally produced .alpha.-Fe2O3 with a gaseous reducing agent at a temperature of about 300° to 400°C.
