Disclosed is an acid-functionalized polyurethane adduct and a process for the preparation of such adduct. The adduct having a linear or preferably branched structure comprises a plurality of internal urethane linkages and one or more terminal carboxylic acid groups per molecule. Such acid-functionalized polyurethane adducts find value in the manufacture of cross-linked aqueous rubber latexes such as might be used in paint compositions.
L'invention porte sur un produit d'addition de polyuréthane à fonctionnalité acide et sur son procédé de préparation. Ledit produit d'addition, à structure linéaire ou de préférence ramifiée, comporte une série de liaisons uréthane internes, et un ou plusieurs groupes terminaux d'acide carboxylique par molécule. Ce produit d'addition s'avère utile dans la fabrication de latex aqueux réticulés du type pouvant s'employer dans des peintures.
