A cation exchange membrane mediated acid-salt metathetic process. An aqueous salt solution is placed into a first compartment on one side of the membrane together with an organic amine extractant of limited water miscibility, and an aqueous acid solution is placed into a second compartment on the other side of the membrane. Product acid forms in the first compartment and collects in the organic amine extractant from where it is recovered. The process is particularly suitable for the recovery of a carboxylic acid from its salt.
La présente invention concerne une métathèse acide-sel mise en oeuvre au moyen d'une membrane d'échange cationique. Le procédé consiste à placer une solution saline aqueuse dans un premier compartiment situé d'un côté de la membrane avec un agent d'extraction en amine organique à miscibilité limitée dans l'eau, et à placer une solution acide aqueuse dans un second compartiment situé de l'autre côté de la membrane. L'acide obtenu se forme dans le premier compartiment et se concentre dans l'agent d'extraction en amine organique, d'où il est possible de le séparer. Ce procédé convient particulièrement à la séparation d'un acide carboxylique de son sel.
