ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: A heat hardening covering composition which con- tains as binder, 5 to 35 parts by weight of triazine resin, especially benzoguanamine resin, or a masked polyisocyanate resin and 95 to 65 parts by weight of a saturated polyester whose diacid component is formed of residues of terephthalic and/or isophthalic acids and the diol component is formed of 100 to 70 mol per cent of bis-(hydroxymethyl)-tricyclodecane with 0 to 30 mol per cent of other diols, especially 2,2- dimethylpropanediol. This composition is useful as lacquer for metals because of its resistance under sterilising con- ditions with respect to acid contents, especially acid food- stuff preparations.
