A B S T R A C T The present invention relats to an improved shampoo composition comprising from 12,5 to 25% by weight of an anionic detergent from 1.0 to 3.5% by weight of an inorganic salt, from 0.25 to 1% by weight of an acid selected from the group consisting of citric acid, boric acid, hydrochloric acid, phosphoric acid, ascorbic acid and mixtures thereof and water, said composition having a viscosity of between 4000 and 15,000 centipoise and a pH of from 3 to 4.5.
