Acidic oral compositions having calcium contents and effective pH-values in the area indicated by grey~ tone in Fig. 2 are non-erosive in saliva and capable of stimulating saliva production, even in "dry mouth" patients. A new multi-step test method for determin~ing erosive potential in saliva has been used for identifying the compositions.

L'invention porte sur des compositions orales acides présentant des teneurs en calcium et des valeurs de pH efficaces dans la zone indiquée par la couleur grise dans la figure 2. Ces compositions ne s'érodent pas dans la salive et sont capables de stimuler la production de salive, même chez des patients souffrant de sécheresse buccale. Un nouveau procédé d'essai à plusieurs étapes permettant de déterminer le potentiel d'érosion dans la salive a été utilisé afin d'identifier les compositions.
