A heat expandable baffle for sealing automotive cavities comprising a carrier plate (21) with an outer perimeter (23) and a strand (25) of a heat expandable material along the major part of the outer perimeter, this strand circumscribing a central section of the carrier plate which is not covered by the heat expandable material, the outer perimeter defining a mean plane (27) limited by the outer perimeter, the central section (22) of the carrier plate being bent away from the mean plane in a way that the point on the central section which has the greatest distance from the mean plane lies at a distance (h) from the mean plane which is at least 5 % of the maximum linear length of the carrier plate, and/or the central section having a lumped mass distribution.
L'invention concerne un écran acoustique thermo-expansible destiné à sceller des cavités d'automobile, l'écran acoustique comprenant une plaque support (21) avec une périphérie externe (23) et un ruban (25) d'un matériau thermo-expansible le long de la partie principale de la périphérie externe. Ce ruban circonscrit une section centrale de la plaque support qui n'est pas recouverte du matériau thermo-expansible. La périphérie externe définit un plan moyen (27) limité par la périphérie externe. La section centrale (22) de la plaque support est courbée à l'opposé du plan moyen d'une manière telle que le point sur la section centrale qui a la distance la plus importante par rapport au plan moyen se situe à une distance (h) du plan moyen, laquelle représente au moins 5 % de la longueur linéaire maximale de la plaque support, et/ou la section centrale a une distribution de masse localisée.
