An acoustic emission leak simulator (10) for a nondestructive simulation of a leak in a structure employs a fluid supply with variable means (18) for controllably releasing the fluid to create a simulated leak source (20). An acoustic waveguide (22) acoustically coupled to the variable means (18) couples the sound waves into the structure (12) for simulation of a leak signal. Detecting means (30) positioned at a predetermined distance from the simulated leak source (20) characterize the leak signals for a leak detection system.

Cette invention concerne un simulateur de fuite à émission acoustique (10) destiné à réaliser la simulation non destructive de fuites dans une structure. L'objet de l'invention fait appel à une source de fluide comportant un variateur de débit (18) permettant de libérer une quantité variable de fluide simulant une fuite (20). Un guide d'onde acoustique (22) couplé acoustiquement au variateur de débit (18) transmet les ondes sonores à la structure (12) pour simuler un signal de fuite. Un moyen de détection (30) placé à une distance prédéterminée de la fuite simulée (20) caractérise les signaux de fuite pour un système de détection de fuites.
