An active respiratory therapeutic device (10), a method for actively loosening, breaking up mucus plugs, phlegm in a user's trachea, bronchial passages, while a user is breathing normally through the device, comprises a housing (12) containing a base portion (14), and a cap portion (16) forming at least a portion of a sonic coupling chamber adapted to be held in a patient's mouth during normal breathing activity. The cap portion also includes breathing passages (26) out of the chamber so that the user can breathe normally through the device during operation. The base portion contains an acoustic generator (36), preferably behind a sanitary flexible diaphragm separating the portions. The portions may be separately housed, and connected electrically. The acoustic generator produces an audio waveform which may be controlled by the user or automatically controlled by a feedback signal to optimize a sensed parameter indicative of the user's breathing efficiency such as the sound of the user's exhaled breath, blood oxygen levels, or ultrasonic signature changes of mucus plugs.
L'invention porte sur un dispositif (10) thérapeutique respiratoire actif, sur un procédé visant à délier, désagréger les bouchons de mucus, les mucosités de la trachée d'un utilisateur, les passages bronchiques lorsqu'un utilisateur respire normalement par le dispositif. Ce dispositif comprend un corps (12) constitué d'une partie base (14) et d'une partie capuchon (16) formant au moins une partie d'une chambre de raccordement sonique adaptée pour être placée dans la bouche du patient en respiration normale. La partie capuchon comporte également des passages (26) respiratoires sortant de la chambre de sorte que l'utilisateur puisse respirer normalement par le dispositif lors de l'opération. La partie base comporte un générateur acoustique (36), placé de préférence derrière une membrane hygiénique flexible séparant les parties. Le générateur acoustique génère un signal audio pouvant être commandé par l'utilisateur ou commandé automatiquement par un signal de réaction de façon à optimiser un paramètre détecté indiquant le rendement respiratoire de l'utilisateur de sorte que le son de la respiration, le taux d'oxygène dans le sang ou la signature ultrasonique modifie les bouchons de mucus.
