2111213 9222611 PCTABS00018 Acrylate or methacrylate compositions are provided for coating porous surfaces, wherein the composition comprises a) 90-99.9 % acrylate and/or methacrylate monomers, and b) 0.1 to 5 % wax. The wax in these compositions is soluble in the acrylate and/or methacrylate monomers when the monomers are in a liquid state. The wax is incompatible with a cured coating formed from the polymerization of the acrylate and/or methacrylate monomers. The compositions cure to provide a non-tacky surface in excellent short time periods as compared to prior similarly constituted acrylate or methacrylate compositions.
