Abstract of the Disclosure There are described fiber bundles comprising staple fibers of acrylonitrile polymers which are provided with an agent that causes the fiber bundle to hold together and which separate into their individual fibers on mixing into viscous matrix materials, wherein the agent is a water-soluble alkali metal silicate and/or an organo-silane adhesion promoter. The fiber bundles of the invention are particularly useful for mixing into hydraulic materials in that the bundles will separate into individual fibers. There is no need for special mixing apparatus.
