A clear coating composition containing about 45-80 % by weight of a binder and 20-55 % by weight of an organic liquid; wherein the binder contains (A) about 40-90 % by weight, based on the weight of the binder, of an acrylic polymer containing polymerized hydroxyl containing monomers of the following group of hydroxy alkyl acrylate or methacrylates having 1-4 carbon atoms in the alkyl group, and polymerized alkyl acrylates and methacrylates having 1-18 carbon atoms in the alkyl groups, or styrene or any mixtures of the above and 0.1 - 5.0 % by weight, based on the weight of the acrylic polymer, of polymerized fluoroalkyl containing monomer represented by formula (I), where R is hydrogen or an alkyl group having 1-2 carbon atoms, n is an integer of 1-11 and R f is a fluoroalkyl containing group having at least 4 carbon atoms and (B) about 10-60 % by weight, based on the weight of the binder, of an organic polyisocyanate cross-linking agent; and where a cured layer of the coating composition has a combination of a water advancing contact angle of at least 100° and a hexadecane contact angle of at least 40°. A process for making the acrylic fluorocarbon polymer and articles coated with the composition also are part of this invention.
L'invention porte sur un revêtement comportant environ de 45 à 80 % en poids d'un liant et de 20 à 55 % en poids d'un liquide organique. Le liant est pour sa part constitué: (A) d'environ 40 à 90 % de son poids d'un polymère acrylique contenant des monomères hydroxyles polymérisés, contenant les groupes suivants d'hydroxyalkylacrylate ou méthacrylates dont le groupe alkyle présente de 1 à 4 atomes de carbone, et des alkylacrylates et méthacrylates polymérisés dont le groupe alkyle présente de 1 à 18 atomes de carbone, ou un styrène, ou leur différents mélanges, et de 0,1 à 5 % du poids du polymère acrylique d'un monomère contenant du fluoroalkyle polymérisé représenté par la formule (I) dans laquelle R est hydrogène, ou un groupe alkyle de 1 à 2 atomes de carbone, n est un entier de 1 à 11 et Rf est un groupe contenant du fluoroalkyle et présentant au moins 4 atomes de carbone, et (B) d'environ 10 à 60 % du poids du liant d'un agent de réticulation organique de polyisocyanate et dont une couche durcie formant un revêtement correspond à une combinaison d'un angle de contact rentrant de l'eau d'au moins 100 DEG et un angle de contact de l'hexadécane d'au moins 40 DEG . L'invention porte également sur un procédé de fabrication du polymère acrylique fluorocarboné et sur des articles en étant revêtus.
