An organometallic composition which can be used as activating component in a metallocene catalyst for the (co)polymerization of .alpha.-olefins, comprises: (A) a fluorinated di-unsaturated cyclic compound, having a relatively acid hydrogen atom, (B) an organometallic compound sufficiently basic to react with the acid hydrogen of the above compound (A), and (C) a polar aprotic organic compound, not containing metallic atoms, having a dielectric constant, in the pure state, equal to or greater than 2, and a weak coordinating capacity. Said composition allows a metallocene catalytic system of the ionic type to be obtained, with a high activity in the (co)polymerization of olefins and a reduced content of metallic residue in the polymeric product thus obtained.
L'invention se rapporte à une composition organométallique qui peut être utilisée en tant que composant activateur dans un catalyseur métallocène pour la (co)polymérisation d'.alpha.-oléfines. Cette composition comprend : (A) un composé cyclique di-insaturé fluoré possédant un atome d'hydrogène relativement acide ; (B) un composé organométallique suffisamment basique pour réagir avec l'hydrogène acide du composé (A) susmentionné ; et (C) un composé organique aprotique polaire qui ne contient pas d'atome métallique et présente une constante diélectrique, à l'état pur, égale ou supérieure à 2, et une faible capacité de coordination. Cette composition permet d'obtenir un système catalytique métallocène de type ionique, avec une activité élevée de (co)polymérisation des oléfines et une quantité réduite de résidus métalliques dans le produit polymérique ainsi obtenu.
