ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An activator mixture is disclosed for improving the utilizable strength of steels. The mixture comprises essentially from 16 to 30% of Ca and/or Na, 13 to 30% of Si, from 2 to 28% of V and/or Mo; from 2 to 25X of Nb and/or Ta from 2 to 15% of Zr and/or Ce; from 2 to 14% of Ti; from 1 to 15% of Al and/or Ba; from 0.1 to 3.0% of B and/or Be; from 1 to 5% of C; from 5 to 20X of Fe and from 1 to 10% of N. The mixture is used in the final phase of the steel production, in a quantity of 5 to 17% kg/t steel.
