The invention concerns a transmitting/receiving antenna comprising a network (10) of radiating elements (12) and means for controlling the amplitude and/or phase of signals transmitted or received by each element such that the antenna can transmit or receive according to a predetermined diagram. The network (10) comprises a number (N+Q) of radiating elements exceeding the requirements and the antenna comprises a control device to activate only the number (N) of elements required. Said control device activates one reserve element (12N+1, ..., 12N+Q), when a faulty element is detected.
L'invention est relative à une antenne d'émission et/ou réception comprenant un réseau (10) d'éléments rayonnants (12) et des moyens pour commander l'amplitude et/ou la phase des signaux émis ou reçus par chaque élément afin que l'antenne soit apte à émettre ou recevoir selon un diagramme déterminé. Le réseau (10) comprend un nombre (N+Q) d'éléments rayonnants en excédent par rapport aux besoins et l'antenne comporte un dispositif de commande pour activer le nombre (N) d'éléments qui est juste nécessaire pour répondre aux besoins. Ce dispositif de commande met en action un élément (12N+1, ..., 12N+Q) en réserve, en cas de détection de panne d'un élément actif.
