An engine mount structure (300) is provided with active vibration mechanisms (36) which are attached in the vicinity of the engine mount (30) to prevent engine vibrations from propagating into the engine mounting structure (32), for example, the wing or fuselage structure of an aircraft. Additionally, sensors (40/42) are provided on the engine (34) and/or wing/fuselage structure (32) to provide control signals to the active vibration mechanisms (36) so that the active vibration mechanism (36) react to the sensed data to minimize the vibration transmissibility from the engine (34) into the wing/fuselage (32).
