An active iron powder to be contained in an exothermal composition generating heat upon contact with air, characterized in that the content of wustite in the iron powder is 5.01 to 50 wt %, as determined by the ratio of the X-ray peak intensity thereof to that of iron. The active iron powder is suitable as a material for an exothermal article, can provide an exothermal composition exhibiting excellent characteristics in the start and initial rise of heat generation, and can be produced at a low cost.
Cette invention a pour objet une poudre de fer active contenue dans une composition exothermique génératrice de chaleur au contact de l'air, caractérisée en ce que la teneur en wustite de cette poudre de fer est comprise entre 5,01 et 50 % en poids, comme le détermine la proportion de rayons X à leur intensité maximale dans ce fer. Cette poudre de fer active est un matériau adéquat pour tout article exothermique lors des premières étapes de génération de chaleur, et peut être produite à un coût modique.
