Because the current RRC: ACTIVE SET UPDATE message presently used in soft handover does not contain HS-DSCH related information, which could be utilized for a Serving HS-DSCH cell change, a separate Radio Bearer Control procedure is needed between the UE (10) and the RNC (20) for carrying out the Serving HS- DSCH cell change. Should HS-DSCH related information - applicable to Serving HS-DSCH cell change - be added to the RRC: ACTIVE SET UPDATE message (32), an unnecessary Radio Bearer Control procedure is avoided, and the drawbacks of the current method are overcome.

Du fait que le message de mise à jour de poste actif: RRC présentement utilisé dans les transfert intercellulaire sans coupure ne contient pas d'informations relatives à la voie HS-DSCH, laquelle peut servir en cas de changement de cellule HS-DSCH de desserte, une procédure de contrôle de porteuse radio est nécessaire entre l'UE (10) et le RNC (20) pour exécuter le changement de cellule HS-DSCH de desserte. L'ajout d'une information relative à la voie HS-DSCH - applicable au changement de cellule HS-DSCH de desserte au message de mise à jour du poste actif: RRC (32), permet d'éviter une procédure inutile de contrôle de porteuse radio, et par conséquent, de maîtriser les inconvénients afférents au procédé actuel.
