A guideway for an air conveyor having an adjustable width is disclosed. The guideway comprises first and second opposing neck guides defining the width there between and a plurality of adjusting assemblies. Each assembly includes an elongate actuating ram attached at a first end to a neck guide for moving that neck guide relative to the other neck guide. The actuating ram is in either an engaged or a disengaged position. An adjustment screw collar is attached to a second end of the actuating ram with a plurality of adjustable adjustment screws projecting through the adjustment screw collar. A striker plate having a plurality of flat striker zones and a control rod for moving the striker plate when the actuating ram is in the disengaged position is provided for such that when the actuating ram returns to the engaged position only one of the adjustment screws butts against the striker plate. The travel of the actuating ram and therefore the width of the guideway is determined by the adjustment screw butting against the striker plate, and therefore the position of the striker plate.
