An actuation mechanism for actuating a power tool comprises a cable assembly comprising at least one outer cable arranged coaxially around a respective inner cable. The inner cable is adapted to slide axially relative to the corresponding the outer cable. At least one electrical contact is connected to the cable assembly. The electrical contact comprises a first metallic pad connected to the at least one outer cable and a second metallic pad connected to the inner cable. A plurality of switch members is connected to the cable assembly. The plurality of switch members comprises a first switch member connected to the at least one outer cable, and a second switch member connected to the inner cable. Actuation of the first and second switch members in use causes the inner cable to move relative to the corresponding the outer cable to close at least one the electrical contact to actuate the power tool.
