An open-topped vehicle body (13), includes a tarping system (16) that is deployed over the body by a pivoting bail member (22). An actuation mechanism (25) applies a torque to the bail member to automatically pivot the member and deploy the tarp. The actuation mechanism includes a number of double coil spiral torsion springs (50) anchored on a shaft (67) attached to the truck body. The springs each include a right hand (54) and a left hand (52) coil portion concentrically wound about an integral center anchor portion. The shaft includes an elongated slot (69) to receive and support the centre anchor portion of each spring within the mechanism. The housing contains the double coil springs and supports a pair of reaction posts (92) extending therethrough to which the reaction ends of the double coil springs can transfer their torsional force.
La présente invention concerne une carrosserie de véhicule à toit ouvrant (13), comportant un système de bâchage (16) qui est déployé sur la carrosserie par un organe de traction à pivotement (22). Un mécanisme d'actionnement (25) applique un couple à l'organe de traction pour faire pivoter l'organe de manière automatique et déployer la bâche. Le mécanisme d'actionnement comporte un certain nombre de ressorts à boudin de torsion doubles (50) ancrés sur un arbre (67) solidaire de la carrosserie du camion. Les ressorts comprennent chacun une partie de droite (54) et une partie de gauche (52) de ressorts enroulés de manière concentrique autour d'une partie d'ancrage centrale intégrale. L'arbre comporte une fente de forme allongée (69) pour recevoir et soutenir la partie centrale d'ancrage de chaque ressort au sein du mécanisme. Le boîtier contient des ressorts à boudin doubles et supporte une paire de montants de réaction (92) s'étendant à travers celui-ci vers lesquels les extrémités de réaction des ressorts à boudin doubles peuvent transférer leur effort de torsion.
