An actuator (150) is provided for a check valve (50), having particular utility in a dry fire control system. The check valve (50) is responsive to a drop in the system air pressure occasioned by opening of one or more sprinkler heads (88) in the fire control system. The movement of the actuator to its open position, establishes a water drain line (122) therethrough, while advantageously also opening a previously sealed vent outlet (397) for the pressurized air within the actuator. The seal for the vent outlet may be manually adjustable to compensate for manufacturing tolerances. The actuator may respond to either the magnitude of system air pressure drop, or the rate of system air pressure drop.

L'invention concerne un actionneur pour soupape de retenue, destiné plus particulièrement à un système de protection contre l'incendie à sec. La soupape de retenue réagit à une chute de pression d'air dans le système, provoquée par l'ouverture d'une ou de plusieurs têtes d'arrosage dans le système de protection contre l'incendie. Le mouvement de l'actionneur vers sa position ouverte établit une ligne d'évacuation d'eau, tout en ouvrant avantageusement un orifice d'aération, antérieurement fermé hermétiquement, pour l'air sous pression à l'intérieur de l'actionneur. La fermeture hermétique de l'orifice d'aération peut être ajustée manuellement pour compenser les tolérances de fabrication. L'actionneur est en mesure de réagir, soit à l'amplitude de la chute de pression d'air du système, soit à la vitesse de la chute de pression d'air dudit système.
