A linear actuator for a removable cartridge magnetic disk drive (11) includes a center guide rail (28) on which the actuator carriage travels. Bushings (30, 32) and the motor coil (23) are spaced symmetrically with respect to the heads (18, 19) so that the center of mass, center of friction, center of force, and center of stiffness of the carriage are all aligned along the center rail. An outrigger travels on another rail to prevent rotation of the carriage.
Un actionneur linéaire pour unité de disque magnétique (11) comporte un rail de guidage central (28) sur lesquels se déplace le chariot de l'actionneur. Les boîtes de glissement (30, 32) et la bobine du moteur (23) sont espacés de manière symétrique par rapport aux têtes (18, 19) de sorte que le centre de la masse, le centre de friction, le centre de force et le centre de rigidité du chariot soient alignés le long du rail central. Un support en équerre se déplace sur un autre rail pour empêcher la rotation du chariot.
