Disclosed herein are actuator overcaps (10) for aerosol canisters (11). They permit automated preassembly of button actuators (21) with overcaps (10) via a modified receiving pod (35). The pod (35) has an adjustment rib (49), an axial retention groove (54) and a downward open side slot (37). Caressing arms (56, 37) assist in supporting the pod (35).
