To enhance the performance of an existing network without changing its structure, adapting devices (PC) are placed upstream of the network nodes. The adapting devices (PC) are provided to precompensate for the garbling caused by the transmissions along the possible routes between the transmitting nodes and the other network nodes. Application in particular to large-scale land optical networks.

Pour améliorer les performances d'un réseau installé sans modifier sa structure, des dispositifs d'adaptation (PC) sont placés en amont des noeuds du réseau. Les dispositifs d'adaptation (PC) sont prévus pour précompenser les déformations de signal causées par les transmissions le long des itinéraires possibles entre les noeuds émetteurs et les autres noeuds du réseau.
