ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A clock operated thermostat that provides setup temperature from an energy saving temperature is disclosed. The amount of overshoot caused in the space in which the thermostat is installed is measured, and a constant in the operation of the thermostat is corrected. The correction continues to occur each time a setup occurs until the overshoot has been reduced to an acceptable level.
