The invention concerns an adaptive senso-motor encoder for a visual or acoustic prosthesis, said encoder having a central checking unit for signal- processing functions, monitoring functions, control functions and external action functions. The encoder further comprises a group of adaptive spatio- temporal filters for converting sensor signals into stimulation pulse sequences, a bi-directional interface being provided for coupling the encoder to an implantable microstructure (2) for stimulating nerve or glia tissue and monitoring brain functions.
L'invention porte sur un codeur sensori-moteur adaptatif pour prothèses acoustiques et visuelles, comprenant une unité centrale de contrôle assurant les fonctions de traitement des signaux, de surveillance, de commande et d'intervention extérieure. Il comprend également un groupe de filtres spatio-temporels adaptatifs pour la conversion de signaux de capteur en séquences d'impulsions de stimulation, une interface bi-directionnelle étant prévue pour le couplage du codeur avec une microstructure implantable (2) aux fins de la stimulation des tissus nerveux ou névrolgiques et de la surveillance des fonctions cérébrales.
