An adaptator (24) having first coupling means adapted to receive and retain the free end of a wiper arm which may be of the side pin (28), sheperd's crook (20) or bayonet style (22) and second coupling means adapted to secure the adaptor to the pri- mary yoke (26). The adaptor has transversely spaced walls (50) for insertion between parallel walls (40) of the yoke (26), and the walls (50) of the adaptor each have a downwardly extending slot (54) for engaging support means (42) extending transversely be- tween the walls (40) of the yoke (26). The slots have first (56) and second (58) enlargements longitudinally spaced from each other on the slots, the first enlargement (56) being adapted to retain the adaptor on the support means in a pre-assembled position with the adaptor partially inserted in the yoke and the resulting yoke and adaptor assembly adapted to receive the free end of a wiper arm. The second enlargement (58) is adapted to retain the adaptor (24) on the support means (42) in a fully assembled position with the adaptor fully inserted in the yoke (26) and the wiper arm secured to the yoke.
