The invention pertains to a process to polymerize one or more monomers wherein one or more initiators and optionally one or more surfactants are added to a polymerization mixture when the pressure in the polymerization reactor is dropping. This process allows a shorter polymerization time due to a higher pressure drop rate at the end of the polymerization reaction. Moreover, the cooling capacity of the polymerization reactor us used more efficiently.

L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de polymériser un ou plusieurs monomères. Ce procédé consiste à ajouter un ou plusieurs amorceurs et éventuellement un ou plusieurs tensioactifs à un mélange de polymérisation lorsque la pression descend dans le réacteur de polymérisation. Ce procédé permet de raccourcir le temps de polymérisation grâce à une vitesse supérieure de chute de pression à la fin de la réaction de polymérisation. De plus, ce procédé permet d'utiliser plus efficacement la capacité de refroidissement du réacteur de polymérisation.
