Video signals are converted into one or more blocks for each predetermined unit amount of data, and a DCT process is performed in this block unit to convert the video signal from a time-base area signal to a DCT coefficient in a frequency area for data compression. As regards additional information consisting of spread spectrum signals, 1 chip of the spread spectrum signal is allocated to each block of the video signal or to each plural blocks, and the additional information is superimposed on the video signal as a constant level corresponding to the chip value for transmission. The video signal on which the additional information consisting of the spread spectrum signal transmitted has been superimposed is received, and from this received signal, the DC component of the DCT coefficient is extracted. Inverse spread process is performed for the DC component of the DCT coefficient extracted to detect the additional information.
Des signaux vidéo sont convertis en un ou plusieurs blocs pour chaque quantité de données unitaire prédéterminée et une transformation en cosinus discrète est effectuée dans cette unité de blocs pour convertir le signal vidéo, par l'intermédiaire d'un coefficient de transformation en cosinus discrète, du domaine temporel au domaine fréquentiel en vue d'une compression des données. Pour ce qui est des signaux d'information additionnels constitués de signaux à spectre étalé, un élément du signal à spectre étalé est affecté à chaque bloc du signal vidéo ou à chaque unité de blocs, et l'information additionnelle est superposée au signal vidéo à un niveau fixe correspondant à la valeur de cet élément pour la transmission. Le signal vidéo sur lequel l'information additionnelle constituée du signal à spectre étalé transmis a été superposée et reçue et la composante continue du coefficient de la transformation en cosinus discrète est extraite de ce signal. Une inversion de l'étalement est effectuée sur cette composante continue extraite pour détecter l'information additionnelle.
