ADDITIVE TRANSFER UNIT Abstract of the Disclosure An additive transfer device for storing and trans- ferring of a medicament to a solution container such as an I.V. bag having an exposed port. The transfer device includes a vial-type container having a slidable pierceable sealing element. A holder member secures a piercing cannula member and the holder has a guide means at one end to fit around the exposed port of the I.V. bag. A cover extends over the guide means and is in sealing contact with the vial. Activating means are provided in conjunction with the cover, the holder and the vial to effect movement of the holder mem- ber toward the vial and piercing of the vial stopper by one end of the cannula. With a piercing of the I.V. port by means of the other pointed end of the cannula, communication can be made between the additive container and the I.V. bag. -1-
