The invention relates to alkaline cells containing manganese dioxide cathode active material. A substance selected from the group of compounds CaWO4, MgTiO3, BaTiO3, CaTiO3, ZnMn2O4, or Bi12TiO20 or any combination thereof is added to the cathode of conventional alkaline cells typically having an anode comprising zinc and cathode comprising manganese dioxide and an alkaline electrolyte. The additive increases the service life of the cell.
Piles alcalines renfermant une matière active cathodique à base de dioxyde de manganèse. Une substance choisie dans le groupe constitué par les composés CaWO¿4?, MgTiO¿3?, BaTiO¿3?, CaTiO¿3?, ZnMn¿2?O¿4?, ou Bi¿12?TiO¿20?, ou toute combinaison de ces composés, est ajouté à la cathode de piles alcalines classiques présentant généralement une anode renfermant du zinc et une cathode renfermant du dioxyde de manganèse et un electrolyte alcalin. Cet additif accroît la durée d'utilisation de la pile.
