The invention relates to an additive, the use thereof and a method for inhibiting the seeding, growth and/or agglomeration of gas hydrates, whereby an effective amount of an inhibitor is added to a multi-phase mixture, comprising water, gas and, optionally, condensate, which tends to form hydrates or a drilling fluid which tends to form gas hydrates. Said inhibitor contains doubly alkoxylated quaternary ammonium compounds, whereby compounds of formula (1), where R1, R2 independently = groups of formula -(B)-(O-A)n-O- CO-R5 (2), or -(A-O)n-(C)-CO-O-R5 (3), R3 = C1 to C30 alkyl or C2 to C30 alkenyl, R4 = an organic group with 1 to 100 carbon atoms, optionally containing heteroatoms, R5 = C1 to C30 alkyl or C2 to C30 alkenyl, n = 1 to 20; A = a C2 to C4 alkylene group, B = a C1 to C10 alkylene group, C = a C1 to C6 alkylene group and X = an anion, are used as gas hydrate inhibitors.

L'invention concerne un additif et son utilisation, ainsi qu'un procédé pour inhiber la formation de germes, la croissance et/ou l'agglomération d'hydrates de gaz. Selon l'invention, on ajoute à un mélange polyphasique, constitué d'eau, de gaz et éventuellement d'un condensat et présentant une tendance à la formation d'hydrate, ou à un fluide de lavage de forage présentant une tendance à la formation d'hydrate de gaz, un inhibiteur en quantité suffisante contenant des composés d'ammonium quaternaire doublement alkoxylé. Les inhibiteurs d'hydrate de gaz utilisés sont des composés de formule (1), dans laquelle R?1¿, R?2¿ signifient indépendamment l'un de l'autre des restes des formules -(B)-(O-A)¿n?-O-CO-R?5¿ (2) ou -(A-O)¿n?-(C)-CO-O-R?5¿ (3); R?3¿ désigne alkyle C¿1? à C¿30? ou alcényle C¿2? à C¿30?; R?4¿ représente un reste organique contenant éventuellement des hétéroatomes avec 1 à 100 atomes de carbone; R?5¿ signifie alkyle C¿1? à C¿30? ou alcényle C¿2? à C¿30?; n est un nombre de 1 à 20; A est un groupe alkylène C¿2? à C¿4?; B est un groupe alkylène C¿1? à C¿10?; C est un groupe alkylène C¿1? à C¿6? et X signifie un anion.
