- 13 - ADDRESS LABEL WITH ADHESIVELY RELEASABLE TOP COPY ABSTRACT An adhesive label comprising an information carry- ing sheet having adhesive on a back face thereof to affix the information carrying sheet to an article. A top copy sheet having an adhesive release coating on a back face thereof is affixed to the information carry- ing sheet by adhesive and is detachable therefrom after the label is placed on an object to identify same. The top copy sheet is easily removed from the information carrying sheet by peeling it off. Information inscribed on the top copy sheet is automatically reproduced on the information carrying sheet which remains on the article to which it is affixed. A method for the production of the adhesive label is also described.
