Abstract of the Disclosure The adhesion of a polyurethane, such as a poly- urethane paint, to an EPDM surface, is greatly improved if the EPDM is first chemically modified by mixing it with a halogen donating material, such as an N,N-dihalo- sulfonamide or a cyclic N-haloamide (e.g., a halogenated hydantoin), and subjecting the mixture to elevated temperature.
