In a simple manner a pad is to be produced in a sheet-fed printing machine with several one behind the other arranged printing units and, if necessary, coating units which each have a forme cylinder and/or a transfer cylinder, a sheet-conveying cylinder designed as printing cylinder. For this purpose, an adhesive application device with one or several adhesion application nozzle(s) is provided which apply(ies), an adhesion promoter directly or indirectly via a transfer cylinder to the printing stock during the passage through the sheet-fed printing machine.
