A curable adhesive composition for forming a bond between silicone coated optical fibers and fiber connector bodies, said composition comprising: an epoxy resin component; and a curative admixed therewith. The curative comprises an amino-substituted polysiloxane including more than one primary amino group and having a molecular weight from 150 to 1,000. The adhesive composition has an initial viscosity, before curing, below 100 Pascal-seconds, and the bond has a fiber pull-out force above 1 Kg. Also provided is fiber optic connector including a holder for one or more optical cables, each optical cable having an optical fiber surrounded by strengthening fibers, both of which are surrounded by at least one polymeric coating layer wherein the optical cable is bonded to the connector by means of the curable adhesive.
Cette invention concerne une composition adhésive solidifiable qui permet de former une liaison entre des fibres optiques enduites de silicone et les corps de connecteurs pour fibres. Cette composition comprend un composant de type résine époxy, ainsi qu'un agent de vulcanisation mélangé à celui-ci. L'agent de vulcanisation comprend un polysiloxane à substitution amino qui comporte plus d'un groupe amino primaire et qui possède un poids moléculaire allant de 150 à 1000. Cette composition adhésive possède une viscosité initiale avant la solidification de moins de 100 Pascals par seconde, tandis que la liaison possède une résistance à l'arrachement des fibres de plus de 1 kg. Cette invention concerne également un connecteur pour fibres optiques, lequel comprend un support pour un ou plusieurs câbles optiques. Chaque câble optique comprend une fibre optique qui est entourée par des fibres de renfort, les deux types de fibres étant entourés d'au moins une couche de revêtement polymère. Le câble optique est collé au connecteur à l'aide de l'adhésif solidifiable.
