ADHESIVE FASTENING DEVICE ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Disclosed is an adhesive fastening device for securing a secondary workpiece to a primary work surface, with the device being securable to such primary work surface through the use of a U-shaped induction core to heat the device. The device includes a base of ferromagnetic material which has a substantially uniform, predetermined cross-sectional thickness with the periphery of the base including a pair of parallel side edges, the parallel edges being upturned, presenting marginal flanges extending in planes perpendicular to the plane of the top surface of the base and terminating in topmost flange surfaces having widths substantially equal to the thickness of the base and located in a plane parallel to the plane of the top surface of the base and spaced from the top surface of the base a distance not substantially greater than the predetermined thickness of the base. The bottommost surface of the base is coated with a layer of heat activatable adhesive adapted to fixedly secure the fastening device to a primary work surface upon application of heat to the adhesive by the generation of flux in the base by a U-shaped core, when the end surfaces of the core are positioned to abut the topmost flange surfaces. Means integral with the base secure a secondary workpiece to the fastening device.
