An adhesive-saturated thermoplastic fibrous web. At least one of the thermoplastic fibrous web and the adhesive melts upon the application of heat and pressure. Desirably, both the thermoplastic fibrous web and the adhesive melt upon the application of heat and pressure. The web may be any fibrous web, such as a nonwoven web, e.g., a meltblown nonwoven web. The web is epaled from a thermoplastic polymer, such as a polyolefin, e.g., polypropylene. While the web generally may be any basis weight, as a practical matter the basisweight will be in a range of from about 10 to about 100 grams per square meter. Similarly, the adhesive may be present at a pick-up level of from about 50 to about 500 parts per 100 parts of fiber. Also described is a method of bonding two materials together to form a laminated structure which involves placing an adhesive-saturated thermoplastic fibrous web between the two materials, applyingheat and pressure to the two materials sufficient to melt at least one of the adhesive and the thermoplastic fibrous web, and allowing the laminated structureto cool.
