An adhesive tape for bonding components such as, for example, in a motor vehicle. The adhesive tape comprises a non-perforated or perforated metal layer having opposite first and second major sides, each of the first and second major sides having an adhesive layer defining an adhesive surface on the first and second major sides. The adhesive layer on the first and second major sides comprises domains of pressure sensitive adhesive and domains of an activatable adhesive composition. Each of the domains define a part of the surface of the adhesive layer. A method of adhering components of motor vehicles together. The method comprises (i) providing an adhesive tape between the components to be adhered together, the adhesive tape comprising opposite first and second major adhesive surface, each of the first and second major adhesive surface being defined by an adhesive layer that comprises domains of pressure sensitive adhesive and domains of an activatable adhesive composition, each of the domains defining a part of the surface of the adhesive layer; and (ii) cross-linking the domains of activatable adhesive composition.
Bande adhésive permettant de coller des pièces telles que par exemple dans un véhicule à moteur. Ladite bande adhésive comporte une couche métallique non perforée ou perforée possédant des première et seconde faces principales opposées, chacune des première et seconde faces principales possédant une couche d'adhésif définissant une surface adhésive sur les première et seconde faces principales. La couche adhésive située sur les première et seconde faces principales comporte des zones constituées d'un adhésif sensible à la pression et des zones constituées d'une composition adhésive activable. Chacune des zones définit une partie de la surface de la couche adhésive. La présente invention concerne également un procédé de liaison entre elles de pièces de véhicule à moteur, qui consiste (i) à placer une bande adhésive entre les pièces à faire adhérer l'une à l'autre, la bande adhésive comportant des première et seconde surfaces adhésives principales opposées, chacune des première et seconde surface adhésive principale étant définie par une couche adhésive qui comporte des zones constituées d'un adhésif sensible à la pression et des zones constituées d'une composition adhésive activable et chacune des zones définissant une partie de la surface de la couche adhésive et (ii) à réticuler les zones constituées de la composition adhésive activable.
