With the intention of providing an arm-rest which can be readily adjusted vertically and laterally and intended, for instance, for a toilet or lavatory seat, and which has but few movable parts, there is provided a positionally adjustable arm-rest which includes an arm-rest part and a frame-part, wherein one end (1) of the arm-support part is inserted together with two surrounding slide blocks (5) into the frame-part (3) such as to enable said arm-support part to be retained in its raised or lowered position. With the arm-rest in an essentially non-loaded state, the slide blocks (5) fix the arm-rest in a horizontal position and hold the arm-rest in this position. The end of the arm-rest also includes a pressure surface (6) which acts against the inner surface of the frame-part so that the arm-rest will not give way when subjected to load. The user can readily adjust the position of the arm-rest. All that is required in this regard is for the user to grip the arm-rest part and swing it slightly upwards while moving the same to the position desired. When the end of the arm-rest has been moved to the height desired, the arm-rest part is released and swung back. The arm-rest part is now fixed in position and can be subjected to load, by virtue of the pressure surface on said end of the arm-rest. Lateral adjustment of the arm-rest is achieved by virtue of the frame-part (3) resting on a rotatably adjustable floor plate (16), or being rotatably mounted to a wall structure.

Ledit accoudoir réglable dans plusieurs positions comporte une partie accoudoir et une partie structurelle, une extrémité (1) de la partie accoudoir étant insérée conjointement avec les deux blocs coulissants (5) périphériques voisins dans la partie structurelle (3) de sorte que ladite partie accoudoir puisse être maintenue en position relevée ou baissée. Lorsque la partie accoudoir est en position pratiquement non chargée, les blocs à glissière (5) immobilisent et maintiennent l'accoudoir en position horizontale. L'extrémité de l'accoudoir comporte également une surface de pression (6) qui agit contre la surface interne de la partie structurelle de sorte que l'accoudoir ne bouge pas lorsqu'une charge est appliquée sur celui-ci. L'utilisateur peut facilement ajuster la position de l'accoudoir. Pour ce faire, il lui suffit de saisir la partie accoudoir et de la faire basculer légèrement vers le haut tout en la mettant dans la position voulue. Lorsque l'extrémité de l'accoudoir est à la hauteur voulue, l'accoudoir est relâché et remis en place. La partie accoudoir est alors en position fixe et peut être soumis à une charge grâce à la surface de pression prévue sur ladite extrémité de l'accoudoir. L'ajustement latéral s'effectue grâce à la partie structurelle (3) qui repose sur une plaque d'embase ajustable (16), ou qui est montée rotative sur une structure de paroi.
