The present invention concerns an adjustable arm rest with a support face (1), an operating lever (3), a joint apparatus adapted for being secured to an arm rest carrier (7) and a locking apparatus. The joint apparatus allows pivoting of the arm rest about three axis, and the at least one operating lever (3) locks or re~leases the joint apparatus and thereby the placement of the apparatus in relation to the arm rest carrier (7) in the three axes. Furthermore, a lockable joint appara~tus is described.
